Akshat Saxena

UX & Process Designer

I design user journeys, workflow solutions and digital experiences across fintech, SaaS and platform products — turning complex user and business requirements into intuitive flows, wireframes and process maps.

Recent work spans banking change at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, user-journey mapping in Epicor ERP, and platform UX for creators and brands at BrandCollab.

Portrait of Akshat Saxena

I'm best used when the problem is unclear, the data is messy, and the team needs someone who can turn noise into structure — and into a user-centred experience — without slowing everyone down.

About

A UX designer comfortable across the whole design lifecycle — from discovery and research through ideation, wireframing, validation and implementation.

How I think

I'm most comfortable when the brief is unclear. I take a messy situation, strip it down to first principles and rebuild it into clear problem statements, user flows and trade-offs. I care about structured thinking and real user understanding more than flashy frameworks.

How I work

I analyse user pain points through discovery sessions and research, then translate complex requirements into intuitive flows, wireframes and process maps. I collaborate closely with product managers, developers, architects and business stakeholders to deliver seamless experiences.

Where I'm useful

Designing digital experiences across fintech, SaaS and platform products — especially where there's real ambiguity, cross-functional complexity, or a regulated environment like banking that needs clarity and structure.

Experience

Roles where I've brought structure and user understanding to unclear problems.

Project Management Consultant

BNP Paribas Personal Finance · Solihull, UK (on-site)

  • Gathered business and technical requirements from stakeholders across banking and technology initiatives.
  • Produced and maintained project documentation — BRDs, process flows, governance artefacts and approval documentation.
  • Coordinated across business, security, architecture and delivery teams to support execution and governance.
  • Ran impact assessments and dependency analysis, and tracked risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID) with regular stakeholder updates.
  • Facilitated requirement-clarification sessions and stakeholder discussions to support business change initiatives.
  • Supported project governance by ensuring documentation completeness and compliance with internal standards.

Junior ERP Analyst

Arvy Consultancy UK Ltd · London, UK (on-site)

  • Worked directly with manufacturing and operational users to understand business processes, system challenges and day-to-day workflow requirements.
  • Ran discovery sessions and requirement-gathering workshops to identify pain points and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Mapped end-to-end user journeys across inventory management, production planning, manufacturing operations and reporting workflows.
  • Created process diagrams, workflow maps and user-focused documentation to improve system understanding and adoption.
  • Collaborated with stakeholders to design more intuitive operational workflows within the Epicor ERP environment.
  • Developed reporting solutions and data visualisations that improved accessibility of information for business users.

Product & Marketing Advisor

BrandCollab · Germany / India (remote)

  • Designed onboarding journeys, approval workflows and reporting experiences for creators, brands and platform administrators.
  • Created user flow diagrams, process maps and low-fidelity wireframes to support new product features and enhancements.
  • Conducted competitor analysis and user research to identify experience gaps, emerging trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Translated complex operational requirements into intuitive user experiences that balanced business and user needs.
  • Developed future-state journey maps and workflow designs to improve efficiency, engagement and user satisfaction.
  • Collaborated directly with founders to prioritise product opportunities and produced UX documentation and stakeholder-ready presentations.

Associate Product Manager & UAT

Justbaat · Remote

  • Turned vague feature ideas into concrete user scenarios, edge cases and acceptance criteria that engineers could build against.
  • Validated releases through structured user-acceptance testing, logging and prioritising issues (P0–P3) with clear reproduction steps and recordings.
  • Acted as a translator between user expectations and engineering reality, pushing for realistic scope and a shared definition of "done".

Brand & Strategy Research Projects

ESADE & Freelance · Sanofi · Greggs · FMCG

  • Led a brand and market research audit for Sanofi's Lizipaina, organising messy consumer and market data into a clear view of where the brand plays and where it loses ground.
  • Analysed Greggs' positioning and customer journeys to understand where the brand over-delivers, where it's invisible and what that means for growth.
  • Built narratives that moved from problem → insight → options → recommendation, focused on what leadership should do next.

Case Studies

How I structure problems, involve users and land clear, user-centred recommendations.

BNP Paribas — Banking Change & Governance

Banking · Requirements · Governance

My role
Project Management Consultant
Problem
Complex banking and technology change initiatives needed structured requirements and clear governance across many stakeholders.
Process
Facilitated requirement-clarification sessions, captured needs as BRDs and process flows, ran impact and dependency analysis, and tracked RAID with regular stakeholder updates.

Outcome Aligned business, security and delivery teams around complete, compliant documentation that kept change initiatives moving.

Epicor — Making the System Understandable

ERP · User Journeys · Workflow Design

My role
ERP Analyst / UX-minded researcher
Problem
People used Epicor daily, but few could see how their actions flowed through inventory, production and reporting — causing avoidable errors and low adoption.
Process
Ran discovery sessions with operational users, mapped end-to-end user journeys, and turned them into process diagrams and user-focused documentation.

Outcome More intuitive workflows and shared diagrams that helped non-finance users understand the impact of their choices and adopt the system with confidence.

BrandCollab — Platform UX for Creators & Brands

SaaS · Onboarding · Journey Design

My role
Product & Marketing Advisor / UX Designer
Problem
A creator-and-brand platform had experience gaps across onboarding, approval and reporting for three very different user types — creators, brands and administrators.
Process
Ran competitor analysis and user research to find the gaps, then designed onboarding journeys, user flow diagrams, process maps and low-fidelity wireframes, plus future-state journey maps.

Outcome Intuitive, future-state journeys that balanced business and user needs, with UX documentation and stakeholder-ready presentations that aligned founders on direction.
